A Wix developer in Dubai for owners who want to run the site themselves

Wix is the right call more often than developers admit. If you own a small business, update the site yourself and need it live in weeks rather than months, a Wix site set up properly will serve you well. As a Wix developer in Dubai, my job is the part owners usually skip: the structure, SEO and tracking that decide whether the site brings enquiries or just exists.
Scope

What this covers

Wix Website Setup

A Wix site structured before it is designed: the pages your buyers actually need, navigation that leads to an enquiry, and a layout checked on a phone first. Built in the Wix editor or Wix Studio, so you can keep editing it yourself after handover.

  • Site structure planned around enquiries
  • Mobile layout checked page by page
  • Handover so you can edit it yourself

Wix Campaign Landing Pages

Pages built for a specific ad campaign rather than sending it to the homepage: one offer, one form, the same promise as the ad, and a thank-you page the ad platforms can count as a conversion. Kept out of the site menu, so campaign traffic does not wander.

  • One page per campaign offer
  • Short forms built for phones
  • Thank-you pages for conversion tracking

Wix SEO & Tracking

Titles, descriptions, URLs and redirects set on every page, Google Search Console verified, and GA4, Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel connected through Wix's marketing integrations, so you can see which campaign brought each enquiry.

  • Page-level SEO settings and redirects
  • GA4, GTM and Meta Pixel connected
  • Search Console verified, sitemap submitted
Process

How a Wix site is built in practice

When a Wix developer in Dubai is the right hire

Wix makes sense when three things are true: the site is small to medium, one or two people will edit it, and nobody wants to manage hosting, updates or security. That describes a lot of businesses here: a clinic, a consultancy, a training provider, a small brokerage, a shop with a handful of services. For them, a custom build or a WordPress install would mean paying for flexibility they will never use.

Where Wix stops being the right answer is just as clear: many editors with different permissions, hundreds of listings that need filtering, a site that must load instantly on poor connections, or a deep integration with your own systems. At that point I will say so and point you at WordPress or a custom build instead, before any money goes into the wrong platform.

Built for the owner who maintains it

The point of Wix is that you can change your own site, so the build is shaped around that: sections you can duplicate rather than rebuild, a small set of fonts and colours saved as the site theme, and image areas that a new upload will not break. When you add a page in six months, it should look like it belongs.

Handover is practical. You change a price, add a team member and publish a page while I watch, and anything that is not obvious goes into a one-page guide. The account, the domain and the billing stay in your name.

Landing pages for campaigns, not just a homepage

Most small business Wix sites send every ad to the homepage, which has to serve every visitor and serves none of them well. A campaign landing page does one job: it repeats the ad's promise, answers the two or three questions that stop people enquiring, and asks for the minimum on a form that works with one thumb.

Wix handles this well. Landing pages can be built quickly, kept out of the main menu and duplicated for the next campaign. Because I also run Google Ads and Facebook ads, the page is written against the ad that will send traffic to it rather than in isolation.

SEO and tracking set up properly on Wix

Wix gives you the controls: page titles and descriptions, URL slugs, a redirect manager, structured data and a sitemap. Many Wix sites never use them, so every page goes out with a default title and the business ranks only for its own name. Setting them deliberately, with each page aimed at one thing people actually search for, is often the biggest single improvement a small site can make.

Tracking is the same story. GA4, Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel connect through Wix's marketing integrations, and form submissions are marked as conversions, so you can see which campaign produced which enquiry instead of guessing. Where a CRM is involved, form entries reach it through an integration or a small piece of code rather than being copied by hand.

Velo, apps and the limits worth knowing

When the editor cannot do something, there are two routes. The Wix App Market covers common needs such as appointments, reviews and chat. Velo, Wix's coding layer, allows custom JavaScript, data collections and connections to outside services. I use it for the specific things that justify it: a calculator, a filtered list of projects, or sending form data to a CRM that has no ready-made app.

The limits are real, and better known before you start than after. You have less control over page weight and code than on WordPress or a custom build, so a Wix site is rarely the fastest in its market, and it cannot be moved to another host: your content and domain are yours, but the design stays on Wix. For most small businesses those are fair trades for a site they never have to maintain. The CMS comparison sets them against the other platforms.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is Wix good enough for a business website?

For a small business that maintains its own site, yes. It is reliable, the editor is easy, and hosting, security and updates are handled for you. It stops being enough when you need many editors with different permissions, complex custom functionality, or full control over speed and code.

Can a Wix site rank on Google?

Yes. Wix lets you set titles, descriptions, URLs, redirects and structured data per page, which covers what most small sites need. What holds Wix sites back is usually the content rather than the platform: pages with no clear subject, images with no text, and a homepage trying to rank for everything at once.

Can I move away from Wix later?

Not easily, and you should know that before you start. A Wix site cannot be exported to another host, so leaving means rebuilding the design elsewhere, although your text, images and domain come with you. For most small businesses that is an acceptable trade for never having to maintain anything.

What is Velo, and do I need it?

Velo is Wix's coding layer: JavaScript, data collections and connections to other services inside a Wix site. It is useful for things the editor cannot do, such as a calculator, a filtered listing or sending form data somewhere specific. Most small business sites never need it, and I only use it where it saves you a workaround.

Wix or Wix Studio?

Wix Studio is the version aimed at agencies and designers, with more control over responsive layouts. For a site an owner will maintain alone, the standard editor is usually simpler to live with. I build in whichever suits the person who edits the site afterwards.
